Woche 22

Grüß euch alle!!
Crazy high ride that nearly killed us
Sorry for the super short email last week! We were at a crazy fun Festival in Darmstadt called Heinerfest. It was a blast. Lots of slushies (very rare in Germany), bratwurst, some Churros with oreo dipping sauce (absolutely divine. I can't believe America didn't think of that first), and a few Roller coasters. The Roller coasters here in Germany are flipping crazy. You gotta pay a few Euro to ride but they go forever and you definitely get your money's worth. On this one spinny one my face was very very smashed into the side of the seat the entire time. It was way fun. Highly recommend visiting a German Sommerfest.

This week we did another street display in Michelstadt, and boy was it fun haha. It was drizzling the entire time, and also this giant bleachers thing was set up right in the middle so nobody could see our display. Also because of the rain nobody was out. It was fun regardless haha

The work is going fantastic here in Langen. We are finding a lot of new investigators, and have been doing a lot better at planning and goalsetting. It's awesome. Lots of lessons given, lots of appointments falling through, a LOT of calling old investigators from the Area Book. Missionary work rocks. We are doing awesome :)

Half our mission meeting
President Boyer and his family!
This week we got to meet our new mission president! He's really cool, and crazy young. He's probably 40, and has 4 kids that he brought with him. He's super. Only got to meet him briefly, but I think he will be an excellent mission president. I'm excited.

This Saturday is transfer calls. Elder Clarke and I have absolutely no idea what will happen. I've now been here long enough that it wouldn't be weird if I left, but also not at all weird to stay. He hasn't been here long enough to say for sure if he'll stay or not either. It's all up in the air. Who knows haha. Next week I may have a new companion or even a new area! We'll see!

K so this week's thought is a scripture we shared with a member this week, who shared some really cool thoughts on it.
The scripture is Ether 12:4, which reads:
"4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."
I love the imagery of hope being an Anchor to our souls. The interesting thing is though, that just because a ship has an anchor doesn't mean that it won't get slammed and knocked around by storms. The storms will still come. The waves will still surge. But so long as the ship has its anchor it will stay rooted in place.
Elder Clarke shared a quote that went right along with this. "It doesn't matter how angry the storm is, or how big the waves are, if you don't let any water get in the boat". When life's storms come, if we don't let any water into our ships, we can stand fast with our anchor of hope. Don't let the devil get any water in. Fear, shame, discouragement. Don't let it in, and the Devil cannot sink you. A ship with no water in it will never sink. And though you WILL get batted around in a storm, you will stay strong, and you WILL overcome, so long as you hold to your anchor of hope.

Jesus Christ lives! He loves us! I love you all! You are amazing!

Ich hoffe, dass diese Woche die beste Woche eures Lebens ist! Macht Spaß!

Tschüß!
Elder Harps

Simone really wanted to give us some of his old shorts.
So we tried them on and took a picture haha

Very German bar/food stand at Heinerfest

We found this German statue thing in the middle of Darmstadt.
All the people are fully posable. Like metal action figures.
So we did the mature thing and made them all dab.

Elder Clarke frying up some SCHNITZEL!!

This is how Elder Clarke and I celebrated Freedom Day in our apartment haha
